Joye Hummel Murchison Kelly (born April 1924) was the first woman to write Wonder Woman comics.
Hummel was likely born in Ohio, to a Ray and Marjorie Hummel.[1]
In 1944, she was a student of Wonder Woman creator William Moulton Marston's at the Katherine Gibbs School in Manhattan. As Marston's assistant from 1944 to 1947, she scripted many Wonder Woman stories during that time, all of which were published under Marston's "Charles Moulton" pseudonym.[2]
In May 2014, she donated her papers relating to her work on Wonder Woman to the Dibner Library of the Smithsonian Institution.[3]
