Mabel Lucie Attwell (b. Mile End, London, 4 June 1879; d. 5 November 1964) was a British illustrator best known for her drawings of idealised children, first on postcards, then on posters, calendars, advertisements etc. She illustrated for magazines and children's books, and drew comic strips in Playbox from 1909, and Laughter, the comic supplement to Passing Show magazine, in 1936-37.
